TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State played their second double header versus No.14 Cal State San Marcos today. In the first game, the Warriors fell 5-2 and in the second, the Cougars held them to 1-0.
GAME 1: Stan State (3-10, 0-4 CCAA) got off to a quick start in the first.
Malia Babasa singled with a bunt and was out on the next play with a fielder's choice hit by
Katie Thornsberry.
Karli DalBianco hit a single to move Thornsberry over to third.
Allejandra Perea hit into a fielder's choice as well, which resulted in no outs and Thornsberry crossing home.

Cal State San Marcos (14-1, 4-0 CCAA) took the lead with a two-run bottom of the first. The Cougars tallied another run in the second and two more runs in the third to put them ahead 5-1.

The Warriors started a rally in the seventh with a single by
Lauryn Serda.
Malia Babasa singled and an error allowed Serda to score and Babasa to reach third. The Cougars were able to contain the damage and held the Warriors to just one run, taking the win 5-2.

GAME 2:Â Cal State San Marcos scored in the second inning off a series of singles.
Â
The Cougars' pitching combination of Dahlia Fink and Savannah Coyle held Stan State to just three hits over the seven innings, giving up one walk and striking out four.
Malia Babasa,
Katie Thornsberry, and
Bree Barner earned the Warriors' three hits while
Avery Jolley was able to get on base with the walk.
STOLEN BASES:Â Katie Thornsberry and
Marissa Cerda each stole a base in the first game of today's doubleheader. This is Cerda's first stolen base this season and Thornsberry's third.

BABASA: Malia Babasa went three-for-seven today, putting her on a six-game hitting streak. Of those six games, Babasa has gotten two or more hits in four of them.

BARNER: Bree Barner pitched the second game of today's doubleheader, giving up only one run on seven hits and allowing only one walk. Â

 UP NEXT: Stan State hosts Chico State next week for two doubleheaders. The Wildcats visit on Friday, February 28
th for the first doubleheader, with the first game taking place at 2:30. The following day, March 1
st, the first game of the doubleheader is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
