TURLOCK, Calif.--- Stan State took on No. 14 Cal State East Bay this afternoon, splitting the doubleheader in Hayward, Calif. with a 4-10 loss and 5-2 win.
GAME 1: The Warriors (10-18, 7-11) took the first lead in game one in the second inning.
McKenna Beach reached base after getting hit by a pitch and
Shelby Frutoz followed with a walk.
Sarah Warden used a sacrifice bunt to move the runners to second and third.
Avery Jolley then hit a sacrifice fly to score Beach from third.

Cal State East Bay (25-6, 13-5 CCAA) put up two runs in the bottom of the inning with a double and two errors that allowed runs to score. The Pioneers extended their lead to four in the bottom of the third, combining singles and walks to earn their runs.

Stan State tied the score in the sixth.
Malia Babasa walked, then stole second, finally advancing to third on a wild pitch.
McKenna Beach was hit by a pitch again, putting runners at the corners with two outs.
Shelby Frutoz singled to score Babasa and move Beach to second. After a pitching change and
Marissa Cerda pinch running for Frutoz,
Sarah Warden hit a double to score both Cerda and Beach.

The Pioneers responded with six runs in the bottom of the sixth, finding their runs with three singles, two doubles, and two walks to take the game 10-4.

WARDEN: Sarah Warden went two-for-two in the first game, with both of her hits being doubles. These mark the fourth double of the season for her, while her two runs batted in today put her at 41 RBIs in her career. Â

GAME 2:Â The Warriors got off to a strong start in the second game. In the first inning,
Malia Babasa reached first after getting hit by a pitch and quickly stole second.
Shelby Frutoz hit a two-run home run to give Stan State and early lead. The Warriors extended their lead to three runs in the top of the third, with
Karli DalBianco leading off the inning with a single.
Shelby Frutoz walked to put two runners on, and
Sarah Warden sacrifice bunted to move the runners over.
Allejandra Perea followed with a sacrifice fly to score DalBianco from third.

Cal State East Bay earned one run in the third inning, with an error and a double allowing a runner to score.

Stan State extended their lead in the top of the fifth.
Karli DalBianco once again led off the inning with a single, with
Shelby Frutoz walking to reach base as well.
Marissa Cerda came in to pinch run for Frutoz. An error proved costly for the Pioneers as
Sarah Warden reached on the error which allowed DalBianco to score. In the top of the sixth, the Warriors added another run starting with
Moxie Barton reaching on an error.
Katie Thornsberry reached on a fielder's choice, while an error allowed Barton to remain on the bases. A sacrifice bunt by
Malia Babasa moved the runners to second and third.

The Pioneers added a second run in the bottom of the sixth with a solo home run by Annelise Garcia.

DALBIANCO: Karli DalBianco went three-for-four tonight, scoring two runs and batting in a run. This is DalBianco's second game this season with three or more hits and her seventh game in which she batted in a run.

FRUTOZ: Shelby Frutoz was one-for-two tonight, batting in two of the Warriors five runs. Frutoz also earned two walks and scored a run tonight to be a strong force for the Stan State offense. Today's home run was the first of her two-year career as a Warrior.

ALARCON: Victoria Alarcon recorded a complete game tonight, allowing two runs, with one earned run, over seven innings, adding three strikeouts. Alarcon has improved her record to 5-5 and her strikeout total to 48.
