SURPRISE, Ariz.--- Stan State played in a consolation match versus Dominican University of California today, falling short 4-2.
 
The Penguins got the best of the Warriors in the doubles matches, taking an early lead. Emma Yu and Annabelle Mulick's match was unfinished, but they were behind 2-5. Alyssa Tay fell on court one first, 6-3, 6-1, giving Stan State an uphill battle. Annabelle Mulick won on court three 6-1, 6-0 to bring Stan State closer. Parker Orlando won her singles 6-2, 6-4 to bring the score tied at 2-2. Abbigail Mulick lost a hard fight 6-3, 6-4 on court five to give Dominican the upper hand once again. After taking her first set to a tiebreaker, Maiah White fell just short giving the Warriors another tie, and the Penguins took the match 4-2.
 
UP NEXT: Stan State fights for seventh place tomorrow, April 19^th, at 9:00 a.m. The Warriors face Colorado Mesa, whom the Warriors have recorded two wins against in their only two meetings.
