TURLOCK, Calif. — Stan State returns to Fitzpatrick Arena this week to continue CCAA play with a pair of home games, hosting San Francisco State on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 5:30 p.m., before welcoming Cal State East Bay on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 1 p.m.
Warriors in Review
Stan State enters the week at 1-10 overall and 0-8 in CCAA play, averaging 56.6 points per game and 37.5 rebounds per contest.
MilaSarai Tau leads the Warriors in scoring at 12.5 points per game, followed by
Alyssa Premo (9.8 ppg) and
Eryn Gardner (9.8 ppg), with Gardner also leading the team on the glass at 8.1 rebounds per game. Premo leads Stan State in field goal percentage at 47.5 percent, while Tau is shooting 42.9 percent from the floor.
From the perimeter, Gardner has been the Warriors' most efficient three-point shooter at 44.4 percent, and
Sara Davis leads the team at the free throw line at 90.0 percent.
Quinn Garrett leads Stan State with 21 assists, Gardner also paces the Warriors defensively with a team-high 20 steals, while Gardner and
Cameron Gibson share the team lead with seven blocked shots.
Weekend Recap
Stan State went 0-2 on the road last weekend, falling at Cal State LA (101-66) on Jan. 8 before a 79-74 loss at Cal State Dominguez Hills on Jan. 10. The Warriors averaged 70.0 points per game over the two contests while shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three-point range. Stan State held a +3 rebounding margin (42.5–39.5) across the weekend but was challenged by turnover pressure.
Tau, Premo, and Gardner each averaged 10.5 points per game over the weekend, with Gardner also leading the team on the glass at 7.5 rebounds per game, followed by Tau at 4.5 rebounds per contest. The Warriors totaled 35 assists over the two games and converted 69.7 percent from the free throw line.
Trio Leading the Way
Over the last four games, Premo, Tau, and Gardner have continued to anchor the Warriors on both ends of the floor. Premo has led the scoring surge, averaging 16.8 points per game while shooting 55.8 percent from the field, including 50.0 percent from three-point range. Tau has followed closely at 15.8 points per contest, while Gardner is averaging 10.8 points per game and has been especially impactful on the glass, leading the trio with 8.8 rebounds per game.
CCAA Leaders
Stan State continues to make its mark in the CCAA statistical rankings. The Warriors rank fifth in the conference in defensive rebounds, with Gardner sixth individually in rebounding. Offensively, Gardner ranks ninth in field goal percentage, while Tau sits eighth in the CCAA. Premo ranks seventh in free throw percentage.
Warriors with Double-Doubles
Eryn Gardner has recorded the Warriors' lone double-double of the season to date, posting 17 points and 10 rebounds in the road contest at Jessup. The performance marked Gardner's first double-double in a Stan State uniform.
Scouting San Francisco State
San Francisco State enters the week at 2-12 overall and 0-8 in CCAA play, averaging 60.0 points per game while allowing 70.1 points per contest. The Gators are shooting 34.0 percent from the field and 29.6 percent from three-point range, averaging 7.9 three-pointers per game, while converting 66.8 percent at the free throw line. SFSU averages 32.9 rebounds per game and generates 11.1 steals per contest.
Geriah Bradley leads the Gators in scoring (12.7 ppg), assists (4.6 apg), and steals (2.4 spg). Athena Brombacher leads SFSU in rebounding at 5.6 rebounds per game. Malea Scobie leads the team in field goal percentage (52.4%), while Leilani Blecha is the primary perimeter threat, shooting 35.7 percent from three-point range with 41 made threes. Deonna Mayfield leads the Gators at the free throw line (81.8%), and Gianna Darté and Scobie share the team lead in blocks.
Season Series vs. San Francisco State
Stan State holds a 27-23 advantage in the all-time series dating back to 1998, though the Gators have won four of the last five meetings. Last season, SFSU earned wins in San Francisco and Turlock, while the Warriors' most recent victory came on Jan. 25, 2024, a 55-30 win in San Francisco.
Scouting Cal State East Bay
Cal State East Bay enters the week at 4-10 overall and 3-5 in CCAA play, averaging 65.3 points per game while allowing 74.6 points per contest. The Pioneers are shooting 36.8 percent from the field and 25.2 percent from three-point range, averaging 4.1 made three-pointers per game, while converting 70.6 percent from the free throw line. CSUEB owns a +1.9 rebounding margin, averaging 40.8 rebounds per game.
Lucca Lowenberg leads the Pioneers in scoring at 10.5 points per game and shoots 36.7 percent from three-point range while converting 95.8 percent from the free throw line. Sierra Morris adds 10.4 points per game and leads the team in field goal percentage at 54.4 percent. Taylor Eldredge averages 10.0 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, while Meredith Gilbertson anchors the paint with 9.6 rebounds per game and eight blocks. Hailey Estrada leads CSUEB in assists at 5.1 per game, and Eldredge paces the defense with 30 steals.

Cal State East Bay holds a 19-6 advantage in the series since 2010, though the teams have split the last four meetings. Stan State earned a 58-57 win in Turlock on Jan. 30, 2025, on Premo's game-winning layup with three seconds remaining.
