TURLOCK, Calif. —
Alyssa Premo poured in a game-high 28 points, but Stan State couldn't hold its halftime momentum as Cal State East Bay pulled away in the second half for a 79-64 CCAA decision Saturday afternoon at Fitzpatrick Arena.
The Warriors erased an early deficit with a dominant second quarter to take a lead into halftime, but the Pioneers responded with a decisive third-quarter surge to regain control.
First Quarter
Stan State struggled to find an offensive rhythm early, shooting just 3-for-18 from the field in the opening 10 minutes. Cal State East Bay capitalized inside to build a 21-8 lead after one.
Second Quarter
The Warriors flipped the game in the second quarter, outscoring the Pioneers 27-10 behind improved ball movement and defensive pressure. Premo led the charge by attacking the paint and getting to the free-throw line, as Stan State carried a 35-31 advantage into halftime.
Third Quarter
Cal State East Bay responded immediately after the break, scoring 28 points in the third quarter to swing momentum back in its favor. Despite Stan State briefly reclaiming the lead early in the period, the Pioneers found success in the paint and converted turnovers into points.
Fourth Quarter
The Warriors continued to compete in the final quarter, but Cal State East Bay (6-11, 5-5 CCAA) maintained separation with efficient inside scoring and timely free throws down the stretch to close out the contest.

Alyssa Premo scored a game-high 28 points, finishing 11-of-22 from the field with four rebounds and two steals. It marked her sixth straight game scoring in double figures and her third 20-point performance of the season.

MilaSarai Tau added 12 points and four rebounds.

Eryn Gardner recorded nine points and a team-high 11 rebounds.
• Stan State forced 16 turnovers and totaled six steals in the contest.

Stan State will travel to Merced on Thursday, Jan. 22 for a 5:30 p.m. tip before returning to Fitzpatrick Arena to host the Bobcats on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 1 p.m. The Jan. 24 contest will be Golden Valley Health Center Day.
