SEASIDE, Calif. — Stan State women's basketball battled on the road Saturday afternoon in California Collegiate Athletic Association play, but Cal State Monterey Bay pulled away for an 82-49 CCAA decision at the Otter Sports Center.
The Warriors fought throughout all four quarters and showed effort on both ends of the floor, but the Otters used efficient shooting and strong rebounding to secure separation and maintain control of the contest.
First Quarter
Stan State opened with energy on both offense and defense, working to establish rhythm early. The Warriors traded baskets with the Otters as both teams sought opportunities inside, but Monterey Bay's balanced attack kept the home team ahead after the opening period.
Second Quarter
Monterey Bay continued to apply pressure in the second quarter, extending its advantage as the period progressed. Stan State looked to create scoring chances through movement and paint pressure, but the Otters closed the half with consistent looks and a strong offensive presence.
Third Quarter
The Warriors came out of halftime determined to stay close, responding with effort on the boards and push in transition. Monterey Bay maintained its lead with effective scoring from multiple players, forcing Stan State to dig in defensively to limit second-chance points.
Fourth Quarter
Stan State continued to compete in the final quarter, contesting shots and attacking the glass, but Monterey Bay's offense remained active and productive down the stretch. Despite the deficit, the Warriors continued to battle until the final whistle.
