Warriors Place Three in Double Figures in Home CCAA Matchup vs. CSUSM

TURLOCK, Calif. – Stan State placed three players in double figures Sunday afternoon but came up short in a 71–54 decision against Cal State San Marcos inside Fitzpatrick Arena in California Collegiate Athletic Association play. Alyssa Premo and MilaSarai Tau each scored 10 points to pace the Warriors, while Karissa Hukill added 10 off the bench as Stan State continued to battle through conference play.

First Quarter
The Warriors got off to a competitive start, trading early baskets with the Cougars and keeping the game within reach throughout the opening period. Amya VangKham-Griffin knocked down an early three, and Stan State stayed connected defensively, trailing just 13–11 after one quarter.

Second Quarter
Cal State San Marcos (6-5, 3-3 CCAA) found its rhythm offensively in the second quarter, shooting 60 percent from the field and outscoring Stan State 26–13. The Cougars used efficient ball movement and perimeter shooting to build separation, taking a 39–24 lead into halftime.

Third Quarter
Stan State (1-8, 0-6 CCAA) continued to compete coming out of the break, with Tau and Eryn Gardner providing an interior presence on both ends of the floor. Alyssa Premo attacked the paint and got to the free-throw line as the Warriors worked to chip away, but CSUSM maintained control with a strong shooting stretch to carry a 61–40 advantage into the fourth.

Fourth Quarter
The Warriors closed the game with improved energy, outscoring the Cougars 14–10 in the final quarter. Hukill sparked the offense with timely baskets in the paint, while Gardner continued to battle on the glass. Despite the late push, Stan State was unable to overcome the earlier deficit.
