ALISO VIEJO, Calif.--- Stan State junior Jackson Oliveira, a native of Oakdale, has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this season following his performance at the Bronco Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 17, at Baylands Park in Sunnyvale.

Oliveira finished fourth overall and was the top collegiate finisher in the Men's 8K Invitational, covering the course in 23:40.6. He finished behind only three unattached runners in a competitive field featuring NCAA Division I and Division II programs.

The junior improved his time by 24.9 seconds from his previous race at the Kim Duyst Twilight on Sept. 12, where he finished second overall and was the top collegiate finisher in 24:05.5. That performance earned him his first FloCollege/CCAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honor of the season.

Oliveira has been Stan State's top finisher in all three meets this season. He opened the year with an 11th-place finish at the USF Invitational in 24:30.0 before his runner-up performance at the Kim Duyst Twilight and fourth-place showing at the Bronco Invitational.

Led by Oliveira, the Warriors placed fifth with 137 points in the 22-team Bronco Invitational, finishing behind No. 8 Chico State, Santa Clara, Nevada and Pepperdine. His twin brother, Mason Oliveira, finished 13th overall in 24:01.2, giving Stan State two runners among the top 13.

Oliveira becomes the first Stan State men's cross country runner to earn two CCAA Runner of the Week honors in the same season, according to conference records dating back to 2006. His second selection gives the Warriors 11 weekly honors during that span.
