TURLOCK, Calif. — Stan State stayed hot Saturday night, defeating Central Washington 9-1 in five innings at Warrior Softball Field to improve to 6-2 overall, 3-0 in its home tournament and extend its winning streak to four games. The Warriors scored in four of five innings, collected nine hits and capitalized on four Wildcat errors in the run-rule victory.
Central Washington (3-5) struck first in the top of the opening inning, using a double and a Stan State error to plate an unearned run for a 1-0 lead.
Stan State answered immediately in the bottom half. Malia Babasa singled and advanced on an error before Katelyn Bridgeman walked and Nat Camarena drew a free pass to load the bases. Addie Meddings was hit by a pitch to force in the tying run. McKenna Beach followed with an RBI groundout, and Sadie Salas laced a two-run double to left-center to give the Warriors a 4-1 advantage after one inning.
The Warriors added two more runs in the second. Ava Montesdeoca reached on an error and Babasa walked before both executed a double steal. Bridgeman then delivered a two-run single to extend the lead to 6-1.
Stan State kept the pressure on in the third. Maggie Pyke was hit by a pitch and advanced on a wild pitch before Moxie Barton singled and stole second. Montesdeoca followed with an RBI single, and Babasa added an RBI groundout to push the margin to 8-1.
The game ended in the bottom of the fifth when Babasa delivered a walk-off RBI double, driving in the ninth run to secure the run-rule victory for the Warriors.
Alexis Camberos (4-1) earned the win, tossing five innings and allowing just one unearned run on six hits while striking out three and walking one. The sophomore left-hander worked out of multiple jams and was backed by aggressive baserunning and timely hitting.
Babasa led the offense, going 2-for-3 with a double, three RBI and a stolen base. Salas finished 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Bridgeman added two RBI, while Montesdeoca and Barton each scored twice as the Warriors totaled four stolen bases.

Stan State wraps up its home tournament Sunday with a pair of games at Warrior Softball Field, hosting Saint Martin's at 9 a.m. before taking on Menlo College at 2 p.m. Both games will feature live stats and streaming on FloCollege.
The Warriors then remain at home Tuesday, Feb. 17, for a non-conference doubleheader against Simon Fraser, with first pitch set for 2 p.m. and game two scheduled for 4 p.m. in Turlock.
Stan State returns to action Feb. 27–March 1 at the NorCal Crossover at the Legacy Sports Complex in Tracy. The Warriors open Friday, Feb. 27 against Northwest Nazarene at 9 a.m. and Western Washington at 2 p.m. Stan State continues Saturday, Feb. 28 against Central Washington at 9 a.m. and Montana State Billings at 12 p.m., before closing the tournament Sunday, March 1 against Western Oregon at 11:30 a.m.
CCAA play begins on the road March 6-7 when Stan State travels to San Marcos for a four-game series against No. 3 Cal State San Marcos. The teams will play doubleheaders Friday at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., followed by Saturday games at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. All conference games will feature live stats and streaming on FloCollege.
