Women’s Basketball Close Regular Season with Road Tests at East Bay, SF State

TURLOCK, Calif. — Stan State women's basketball closes out the 2025-26 regular season this week with a pair of CCAA road contests, traveling to Cal State East Bay on Thursday, Feb. 26 for a 5:30 p.m. tip before wrapping up the campaign Saturday, Feb. 28 at 1 p.m. at San Francisco State. Stan State will look to finish strong in its final two games of the season.

Season Snapshot

Stan State enters the final weekend at 3-20 overall and 2-18 in CCAA play. The Warriors opened the year with a neutral-site win over Bushnell and earned conference victories over UC Merced and Chico State (OT) during league play.

Mila Sarai Tau leads Stan State in scoring at 12.8 points per game and tops the squad in field goal percentage (.444). Alyssa Premo adds 10.9 points per contest and ranks third in the CCAA in free throw percentage, while Eryn Gardner averages 9.3 points and a team-best 9.3 rebounds per game. Quinn Garrett leads the team in assists (55), Gardner leads in steals (39) and blocked shots (17), Amya Vangkham-Griffin has made a team-high 20 three-pointers, Gardner owns the top three-point percentage (.429), and Sara Davis leads the team at the line (.833).

Trio Leads the Way

The trio of Premo, Gardner and Tau has paced the Warriors throughout the season. Tau provides efficient interior scoring, Premo delivers perimeter production and veteran leadership, and Gardner anchors the paint on both ends of the floor.

Double-Doubles
Gardner has recorded three double-doubles this season — 17 points and 10 rebounds at Jessup (Nov. 22), 15 points and 13 rebounds vs. San Francisco State (Jan. 15), and 11 points and 11 rebounds vs. UC Merced (Jan. 24). Tau added a 12-point, 12-rebound performance at UC Merced on Jan. 22.

CCAA Stats
Gardner ranks third in the CCAA in rebounding, while Premo sits third in the conference in free throw percentage.

Last Weekend Recap

The Warriors fell 81-71 to Cal State Dominguez Hills before dropping a 93-45 decision to Cal State Los Angeles to close out the home schedule.

Against Cal State Dominguez Hills, Stan State led 59-53 after three quarters before a 28-12 fourth quarter shifted momentum. Gardner finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds, Vangkham-Griffin scored a season-high 16 points, and Sara Davis added 13.

On Saturday, the Warriors recognized seniors Alyssa Premo and Kristen Andersen prior to tipoff. Premo led Stan State with 11 points in her final home game, while Gardner grabbed 12 rebounds against Cal State Los Angeles.

Scouting Cal State East Bay

Cal State East Bay enters Thursday at 10-17 overall and 9-11 in CCAA play, averaging 67.3 points per game. The Pioneers split last weekend, falling 74-63 at Cal State Monterey Bay before earning a 79-49 road win at Cal State San Marcos.

Aloha Akaka leads East Bay at 10.0 points per game, with Taylor Eldredge (9.8 ppg) and Sierra Morris (9.0 ppg, .531 FG) adding balance. Meredith Gilbertson averages 8.7 rebounds per game, and Lucca Lowenberg has made a team-high 52 three-pointers.

Last Meeting vs. Cal State East Bay

Stan State fell 79-64 to Cal State East Bay on Jan. 17 in Turlock despite a game-high 28 points from Premo. The Warriors used a 27-10 second quarter to take a halftime lead, but the Pioneers answered with 28 third-quarter points to regain control. Tau added 12 points, and Gardner recorded 11 rebounds.

Series History vs. Cal State East Bay

Cal State East Bay holds a 20-8 advantage in the all-time series. Stan State is 4-4 in the last eight meetings, with the last Stan State win coming Jan. 30, 2025 in Turlock, a 58-57 victory.

Scouting San Francisco State

San Francisco State enters the week at 6-20 overall and 4-16 in CCAA play, averaging 60.5 points per game while allowing 69.3. The Gators split last weekend, earning a 72-64 road win at Cal State San Marcos before falling 70-51 at Cal State Monterey Bay. San Francisco State will host UC Merced before facing Stan State on Saturday.

Geriah Bradley leads San Francisco State at 12.9 points per game and has a team-high 84 assists. Athena Brombacher adds 10.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game while shooting .453 from the field. Leilani Blecha has made 57 three-pointers, and Samantha Myhr has added 55 from beyond the arc.

Last Meeting vs. San Francisco State

Stan State fell 80-71 to San Francisco State earlier this season in Turlock despite 48 combined points from Gardner, Premo, and Tau. Gardner recorded a 15-point, 13-rebound double-double, Premo scored 18 points, and Tau added 15 as the Gators used a strong third quarter to pull away.

Series History vs. San Francisco State

San Francisco State leads the all-time series 17-16 and has won three of the last five meetings. Stan State's last win over the Gators came Jan. 15, 2024, a 55-30 victory.
