2/24/2026 9:19:00 AM

TURLOCK, Calif. – Stan State women's tennis returns to PacWest competition this Saturday with a 10:00 a.m. road match up at Menlo College at the Wunderlich Tennis Courts in Atherton.

The Warriors enter the week looking to build momentum as conference play continues. Stan State opened PacWest action in dominant fashion with a 7-0 sweep of William Jessup in Turlock, securing the doubles point and winning all six singles matches in straight sets. The victory showcased the team's depth, with multiple players recording 6-0 sets and controlling play across the lineup.

Since that conference-opening performance, the Warriors have faced a competitive stretch. Stan State battled in a tight 4-3 loss at Fresno Pacific, earning singles victories from Parker Orlando, Maiah White, and Emi Mikami. The Warriors then competed against Saint Mary's in non-conference action, gaining valuable experience against strong opposition.

Through the early part of the schedule, the middle and lower portion of the singles lineup has provided key points. Orlando has delivered consistent play at No. 4 singles, while White and Mikami have added important wins in recent duals. Doubles has also remained competitive, with several close finishes that could prove pivotal in conference play moving forward.

Menlo enters Saturday's match with momentum of its own. The Oaks recently fell 4-3 to Fresno Pacific in a tight dual before responding with a 5-2 win over UC Santa Cruz. Menlo also dropped a 6-1 decision to UC Davis but bounced back in dominant fashion with a 7-0 sweep of Jessup on the road. The results reflect a team that has been competitive in close matches while also capable of controlling duals from start to finish.

Saturday's contest marks an important conference opportunity for both programs as PacWest standings begin to take shape. Establishing the doubles point and maintaining consistency through singles will be key factors as the Warriors look to secure a road conference win. First serve is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. in Atherton.
