FRESNO, Calif. – Stan State women's tennis earned a 5-2 PacWest victory over Cal State Los Angeles on Sunday, using a strong doubles performance and control of the middle and lower courts to secure the win.
The Warriors claimed the doubles point for the fifth consecutive match, continuing to build momentum early in duals. Parker Orlando and Katrine Damkjær led the way with a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles, followed by Maiah White and Emi Mikami, who secured the point with a 6-4 victory at No. 3.
In singles play, Stan State once again leaned on its depth to take control.
Abbigail Mulick delivered one of the most important performances of the day at No. 2 singles, battling through a three-set match and closing out a 10-8 third-set tiebreak to give the Warriors a key point. The win highlighted her composure and ability to perform in pressure moments at the top of the lineup.
Katrine Damkjær followed with a 6-3, 7-5 victory at No. 3 singles, while Parker Orlando continued her strong play with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4. Maiah White added another point at No. 5 with a 6-1, 6-2 victory, as the Warriors secured four singles wins to clinch the dual.
Cal State LA picked up points at No. 1 and No. 6 singles, but Stan State's control from courts two through five proved to be the difference.
The victory continues a trend for the Warriors, who have consistently relied on production from the middle and lower courts while maintaining momentum through doubles play.
