TURLOCK, Calif. — Stan State split Thursday's CCAA doubleheader with No. 7 Cal State East Bay, falling 4-3 in the opener before responding with a 1-0 victory in the nightcap behind
Alexandria Himes' three-hit complete game shutout at Warrior Softball Field.
Stan State moves to 16-16 overall and 5-9 in CCAA play, while Cal State East Bay is now 28-6 overall and 9-5 in conference action.
The game two victory marked another ranked win for the Warriors, who also own victories over No. 1 Concordia Irvine (6-1, 2022), No. 5 Cal State San Marcos (6-5, 2024) and No. 14 Cal State East Bay (5-2, 2025).
In game one, Stan State nearly erased an early deficit but came up just short in a 4-3 loss.
The Pioneers took advantage of defensive errors in the first inning to score twice, then added two more runs in the second to build a 4-0 lead.
Stan State answered in the third inning when
Malia Babasa reached on a bunt single and later scored on a throwing error.
Katelyn Bridgeman followed with a sacrifice fly to cut the deficit to 4-2.
The Warriors pulled within one in the fifth as Babasa singled and advanced before Bridgeman delivered an RBI single down the left field line to make it 4-3.
Stan State had opportunities late but was unable to push across the tying run.
Babasa led the offense, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Bridgeman drove in all three runs for the Warriors, while
Marley Hogue added a hit.
Alexis Camberos (4-3) took the loss, allowing four runs (two earned) in 1.2 innings.
Nat Camarena was outstanding in relief, tossing 5.1 scoreless innings while allowing just two hits.
Marissa Quintero (19-2) earned the win for Cal State East Bay, allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits in a complete-game effort.
In game two, Stan State bounced back behind a dominant pitching performance from
Alexandria Himes to secure a 1-0 win.
The Warriors scored the game's only run in the second inning when
Nat Camarena singled and came around to score on
Katrina Rodriguez's RBI double to center field.
Stan State finished with five hits in the game, with Rodriguez leading the way with the lone RBI. Babasa, Camarena,
Marley Hogue, and
Ava Montesdeoca each added a hit.
Himes (8-4) was in complete control in the circle, tossing a three-hit shutout. She did not issue a walk and kept the Pioneers off the scoreboard while facing just 24 batters. Jaidyn Gamble (7-5) took the loss for Cal State East Bay, allowing one run on five hits over 4.1 innings.

CCAA Standings
Cal State San Marcos remained atop the conference standings at 16-2 after sweeping Cal State Dominguez Hills on Thursday. No. 7 Cal State East Bay sits second at 9-5 after splitting with Stan State, while the Warriors improved to 5-9 in CCAA play.
San Francisco State moved to 6-8 after a doubleheader sweep over Chcio State in Chico, which now stands at 8-10. Cal Poly Humboldt (6-6), Cal State Monterey Bay (7-9), and Cal State San Bernardino (7-9) remain in the middle of a tightly contested race, while Cal State Dominguez Hills dropped to 6-12. The top five teams will advance to the 2026 CCAA Softball Championships, scheduled for May 6-9 in Hayward.

Stan State concludes its four-game CCAA series with No. 7 Cal State East Bay on Friday with a doubleheader scheduled for 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Warrior Softball Field.
Elsewhere, Cal State San Marcos hosts Cal State Dominguez Hills (noon/2 p.m.), Chico State hosts San Francisco State (noon/2 p.m.), and Cal Poly Humboldt hosts Cal State Monterey Bay (1 p.m./3 p.m.). Cal State San Bernardino will play a non-conference doubleheader at Vanguard (noon/2 p.m.) in Costa Mesa.
