TURLOCK, Calif. – Stan State women's tennis has been selected as one of eight teams to compete in the 2026 PacWest Tennis Championships, the conference announced this week.

The championships will take place April 15–17 at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Club in Surprise, Arizona.

The Warriors secured their place in the tournament field after finishing with a 6-4 record in PacWest play, earning a spot among the top eight teams in the conference. Final seeding and first-round matchups will be announced following the conclusion of regular season play this week.

Stan State joins Azusa Pacific, Point Loma, Hawai'i Pacific, Fresno Pacific, Menlo, Dominican, and Biola in this year's championship field.

Throughout the season, the Warriors have proven they can compete with the conference's top teams. Stan State earned a 4-3 victory over Hawai'i Pacific earlier this year and split its two meetings with Dominican, including a 4-3 win in Turlock. The Warriors also picked up a 7-0 win over Jessup and have consistently competed in tight matches across the conference schedule.

Several of Stan State's matches against playoff teams have been decided by narrow margins, highlighting the team's ability to stay competitive across the lineup. The Warriors have built their identity on depth, particularly through the middle and lower courts, where they have secured key points throughout the season.

Head coach Verek Visaraga emphasized the growth of the group as the team prepares for postseason play.

"This team has come a long way," Visaraga said. "For such a young group, I'm really proud of what they've accomplished. I'm excited to see what we can do next in the conference tournament, and it's a great way to send off our seniors."

With the regular season entering its final week, Stan State will look to build momentum heading into the PacWest Championships as they prepare to compete against the conference's top teams in Arizona.
