TURLOCK, Calif. – Stan State women's tennis dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 25 Azusa Pacific on Wednesday afternoon at the Stan State Tennis Courts in the final regular season match of the year.
The Cougars secured the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 to take early control of the dual. The No. 1 doubles match featuring Emma Yu and Abbigail Mulick went unfinished.
In singles play, Azusa Pacific extended its lead with straight-set victories at the top three courts before closing out the match. Parker Orlando provided the lone point for the Warriors at No. 4 singles, earning a 6-4 victory.
Maiah White delivered one of the most competitive matches of the day at No. 5, pushing her opponent to a third-set tiebreak after taking the second set, but ultimately fell 10-8 in the deciding set.
Despite the result, Stan State competed throughout the lineup against a nationally ranked opponent, with several matches featuring extended rallies and tight sets.
Senior Day
Wednesday's match also marked Senior Day for the Warriors, as Stan State honored Emma Yu and Maiah White for their contributions to the program.
Yu has competed at the top of the lineup throughout her career, providing leadership and consistency in both singles and doubles play. White has been a steady presence in the lower courts, delivering key points and helping define the team's identity through depth and resilience.

Stan State now turns its attention to the PacWest Tennis Championships, set for April 15–18 at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Club in Surprise, Arizona.
The Warriors have secured a spot among the eight-team field and will look to carry lessons from the regular season into postseason play. Final seeding and first-round matchups will be announced later this week.
With the regular season complete, Stan State shifts focus to the postseason as it prepares to compete for a PacWest Championship.
