SAN FRANCISCO--- Jackson Oliveira finished 11th overall and was the top non-Division I runner to lead the Stan State men's cross country team to a seventh-place finish out of 17 scoring teams Friday afternoon at the University of San Francisco Invitational at Hellman Hollow.

Stan State entered the season ranked eighth in the West Region in the first U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) regional poll of the season. The Warriors totaled 208 points Friday, finishing ahead of UC Davis, Pacific, Saint Mary's, Cal State East Bay and San Jose State, among others, in a field featuring several NCAA Division I programs.

Jackson Oliveira paced Stan State with a time of 24:30.0, placing 11th overall and earning 10 team points. He was the top non-Division I runner in the race and finished just 37.2 seconds behind individual champion Yemane Mulugeta of California Baptist, who won in 23:52.8.

Mason Oliveira was the second Warrior across the finish line, placing 30th overall in 25:00.9. Quentin Clarke followed in 62nd with a time of 25:43.6.

Jace Campos and Tanner Gerhart rounded out Stan State's five scoring runners, finishing back-to-back in 74th and 75th place. Campos crossed the line in 25:57.2, while Gerhart finished in 25:57.6.  Gurdave Pandher was right behind the scoring five, placing 76th in 26:00.0. Larson Wejmar finished 91st in 26:17.9, followed by Andrew Morales in 100th at 26:24.7 and Austin Hein in 116th at 26:41.2.

Also competing for the Warriors were Patricio Kearney, who finished 141st in 27:08.3, and Jason Arriaza, who placed 159th in 27:49.7.

Jackson and Mason Oliveira entered the season coming off All-CCAA performances in 2024 and 2025. Mason finished 15th at the CCAA Championships with an 8K time of 24:57.5 before placing 26th at the NCAA Division II West Region Championships in 30:34.7 over 10K. Jackson placed 18th at the conference championships in 25:05.7 and 35th at the West Region Championships in 30:59.3.

Both also enjoyed success in San Francisco last season. Jackson won the San Francisco State Invitational with an 8K time of 24:17.6, while Mason placed third in 24:36.0.
Jackson was the 2024 CCAA Freshman of the Year and earned All-CCAA honors during his freshman season. Mason has earned All-CCAA honors in each of his first two cross country seasons with the Warriors.

California Baptist captured the team title with 33 points, followed by host San Francisco with 50 and California with 77. Santa Clara placed fourth with 109 points, Stanford was fifth with 150 and Sacramento State finished sixth with 191, 17 points ahead of the Warriors.
