USAF ACADEMY, Colo. --- The Warriors stayed closed in the first half, but the high altitude of the Rocky Mountains may have gotten to them as they dropped to Division I Air Force Academy, 74-49, Tuesday night in Clune Arena.
The Falcons were led by senior co-team captain duo of Pamela Findlay and Alecia Steele as they combined to score 32 points.
Cal State Stanislaus (2-6) was led by freshman guard
Christin Gowan with 15 points.
Lysandra Williams came off the bench to score 13 points with three blocked shots and two steals. As a team, the Warriors blocked eight shots with
Shristy Kumar adding three more. Kumar, however, only netted three points on 1 of 2 shooting.
Stanislaus trailed 36-27 at the break and out-shot Air Force in the first half. CSUS, however, was just 8 of 22 in the second half. Air Force scored 30 points off 26 Stanislaus turnovers.
The game was the first ever match-up between the two teams and the Warriors first game against a Division I team during the regular season.
The Warriors will have 23 days off from competition until resuming CCAA play on Jan. 4 when they host San Francisco State in Turlock.
