ROAD WARRIORS BATTLE, COME UP SHORT
The Warriors dropped two CCAA road contests this past weekend at Cal State San Bernardino and at Cal Poly Pomona.  It took overtime for the Coyotes to knock of the Warriors, 46-43, Friday night.  Stanislaus was able to force overtime despite shooting just 21 percent from the field, the Coyotes shot just 22 percent … Katie Busi was able to break into double-figure scoring as she netted 10 points.  The Warriors were outscored 5-2 in the overtime period as the Coyotes scored all five of their points on free throw attempts. Busi also pulled down 15 rebounds … On Saturday, the Warriors held a six-point lead with just under seven minutes to go but the Broncos went on a late run en route to a 65-56 victory.  Lysandra Williams, Samantha Bertomen and Busi all scored in double figures but was not enough as the Warriors dropped to 1-3 in CCAA play.

HOME SWEET HOME

After an 0-4 road trip that included extra time in Alaska due to weather and travel issues, the Warriors are finally home for their next five contests.  The Warriors are 5-0 at home this season and will be looking to find some of their early season magic as they look to turn around a disappointing 1-3 start to the conference season.  In the heart of the CCAA schedule the Warriors will play nine of their next 10 games at Warrior Arena … Cal State Stanislaus is 67-46 overall in Warrior Arena since the start of the 1998 season (CSUS is now 30-73 on the road during the same period).

BUSI SERVING UP DOUBLE-DOUBLES
Katie Busi (pictured right) has turned in three consecutive double-doubles and now has five this season (and nine in her career). After a 11-point, 10-rebound game on Dec. 20 at Alaska Anchorage, the sophomore center took on the conference teams on the road for two more. She had 10 points and 15 rebounds Friday at Cal State San Bernardino. The 15-board performance was Busi's second second-best this season (she had 21 on Nov. 28 vs. Academy of Art). Saturday night, Busi netted 16 points and pulled 10 rebounds … by the way, the Stanislaus single season record for double-doubles for a season is 24 (Shannon Donnelly, 1999-2000).

TOP BLOCKERS
Through their first 11 games, the Warriors lead the CCAA averaging 5.8 blocks per game. Katie Busihas 31 blocks, Lysandra Williams has 10, Rebecca Arent with nine and Gwen Page added seven.

AMONG THE CONFERENCE LEADERS
Katie Busi still leads the CCAA in a number of categories. She's No. 1 in rebounding per game (10.7), offensive rebounds per game (3.8), defensive rebounds per game (6.9) and blocked shots per game (2.8). Busi is also 10th in scoring (13.1 per game) … Lysandra Williams is now seventh in the CCAA with 0.9 blocks per game … Gwendolyn Page is 8th in the CCAA with 13.4 points per game.

CRASH THE BOARDS
Even though Katie Busi leads the conference in rebounding, both offensive and defensive, as a team, the Warriors are down on the chart. As a unit, the team is eighth in offensive rebounds (13.3 per game) and seventh in defensive boards (25.0).

OFFENSIVE TEAMS
The Warriors ranks fifth among CCAA team in scoring offense, averaging 64.1 points a game. Their opponents on Saturday, however, is the top scoring team in the league. Humboldt State enters the week with a 79.6 points per game average which is 9.5 points a game better than the No. 2 team, Cal State Monterey Bay — a team HSU just beat by 20 (90-70 on Saturday). Humboldt State's average margin of victory is 17.6 points.

IT'S GOOD TO BE HOME

The Warriors women are glad to finally made it home in time for the Holidays as their recent road trip to Anchorage, Alaska was extended. The team was not able to get to Seattle for connecting flights following its games at Alaska Anchorage on Dec. 20. The Warriors spent three extra days in Anchorage before finally getting home on Christmas morning to join their families … heavy snow in Seattle had cause havoc on air travel and the team's original flight to Seattle from Anchorage on Dec. 21 was canceled. They were not able to get out of Alaska until late on Christmas eve.

INJURY UPDATES
Sarah Olson has a broken nose and Heather Jones has a torn rotator cuff and are both out this week. Jones will likely be sitting the season.
