SEASIDE -- The Cal State Stanislaus men's basketball team suffered its first defeat of the season, and it was in overtime on the road at Cal State Monterey Bay Friday night.
After
Jordan Stokes gave the Warriors a two-point lead with 54 seconds left in regulation, CSUMB's Davion Berry tied the game and sent it into overtime with 28 ticks left on the clock. In the extra period, the Otters out-scored the Warriors 12-6 to claim the 73-67 win.
Cal State Stanislaus dropped to 4-1 overall and 0-1 in California Collegiate Athletic Association play. CSUMB is now 2-2 and 1-0.
The Warriors were 2 for 10 in field goals in the extra period.
Frank Monge led Stanislaus with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Chad Johnson also had 15 points and
Jordan Stokes scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Berry finished with a game-high 17 points off the bench for the Otters.
The Warriors will visit San Francisco State (5-2, 0-1) Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. at The Swamp. The SFSU Gators lost their CCAA opener to Chico State, 66-51.
