Stan State Men's Basketball Earns Third-Straight NABC Academic Award; Seven Warriors Named to Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has recognized the Stan State men's basketball program with the Team Academic Excellence Award for the third consecutive year. Seven Warrior student-athletes in Daniel Ameyaw, Jason Cibull, Lloyd French, Donjae Lindsey, Tahjae Ordonio, Jordan Smith and Jason Zimmer were also named to the 2025-26 NABC Honors Court.

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Award honors men's basketball programs that finish the academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Honors Court recognizes junior, senior and graduate student-athletes who maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher during the 2025-26 academic year. The awards are presented annually to teams and student-athletes from all levels of college basketball.

"College basketball student-athletes do incredible things on the court, but their achievements in the classroom are equally worthy of celebration," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. "Education is one of the NABC's core values, and the hundreds of programs and thousands of athletes represented on these awards reinforce the commitment to academic success that exists across all levels of our sport."

More than 2,300 student-athletes earned NABC Honors Court recognition while more than 400 programs across all levels of college basketball received the 2025-26 NABC Team Academic Excellence Award. Stan State was one of four California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) programs to earn the Team Academic Excellence Award, highlighting the Warriors' continued commitment to success in the classroom.

Led by head coach Paul Trevor, Stan State was among the programs nationwide honored with the Team Academic Excellence Award and had seven student-athletes recognized on the Honors Court.

Cibull and Smith were additionally named to the 2025-26 CSC Academic All-District Team. Cibull was also inducted into the 2025-26 Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society, recognizing his excellence in both academics and athletics. Additionally, Cibull, Smith, Lloyd French, Daniel Ameyaw, Donjae Lindsey, Tahjae Ordonio and Jason Zimmer earned recognition on the Stan State Department of Athletics Honor Roll during the 2025-26 academic year. Warriors also were recognized at the department's annual STANYS awards banquet, earning the Community Engagement Award for their impact and service throughout the academic year.
