SAN FRANCISCO -- A cold shooting night against a red-hot offense in the second half was the formula for the Warriors setback as San Francisco State defeated Cal State Stanislaus, 67-46, Saturday night.
Marcus Lever scored 13 points to lead the Warriors but they shot just 29.2 percent in the second half. The cold spill turned a 35-24 halftime score into a 21-point SF State win. With the loss, the Warriors open the conference season 0-2 and 4-2 overall.
SF State shot 54.5 percent in the second half.
Marquel Hoskins scored 14 and Phoenix O'Rourke had 12 to lead the Gators improve to 6-2 overall and 1-1 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
Julian Williams had eight points and
Casey Cutts added six to pace the Warriors.
Frank Monge had six rebounds for CSUS. The Warriors were 17-for-47 as a team from the field and made 3-of-14 three-point attempts.
The Warriors will have two weeks off until their next contest, a Dec. 19 match at Cal Baptist in Riverside. They would resume CCAA play on Jan. 2 at home versus Cal Poly Pomona.
