ROHNERT PARK -- Cal State Stanislaus's seven-match winning streak ended on Sunday as the Warriors narrowly dropped a conference match to Sonoma State, 5-4, in Rohnert Park.

The loss drops the Warriors to 6-3 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association and 9-3 overall. Stanislaus remains in second place behind UC San Diego, which finished the year 10-0 in CCAA play. Sonoma State completed its regular season at 6-4 in the CCAA.

Sonoma State avenged a 5-4 loss to Stanislaus on March 20 in Turlock. The Seawolves were playing in their third match in as many days with the first two in Southern California.

The Warriors will take on Cal Poly Pomona on Wednesday for their final regular season match of the season at 10 a.m. on CSUS Tennis Courts. Cal State Stanislaus, currently ranked No. 4 in the West Region, could still qualify for the regional tournament with a win on Wednesday.

In Sunday's match, the Warriors won the No. 1 doubles match with Verena Preikschas and Katie Eng defeating Stephanie Luk and Molly Maguire, 8-6.

Preikschas and Eng also won the No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches respectively. Preikschas beat Luk, 6-2, 6-1 and Eng won her match over Dana Carolloa, 6-1, 6-2.

Vanesa Reibstein defeated Jeanette Peck at No. 3, 6-0, 6-2.
