TURLOCK -- Cal State Stanislaus soccer and Warrior Stadium will be in the NCAA attendance record book the next time it is published.

Friday night's attendance of 1,876 during the women's game is the second-highest in NCAA Division II since the NCAA started keeping track of attendance figures in 1998.

The total attendance during the University's Grand Opening Ceremony , when the Warriors took on No. 13 UC San Diego, surpassed the previous No. 2 tally of 1,848 set on Sept. 10, 2004. The mark was set by Washburn in its match against Southern State in Topeka, Kansas.

The single-match record of 2,004 was set on Aug. 28, 2007 by Central Oklahoma when it hosted Dallas Baptist in Edmond, Okla.

The Warriors' men's game drew 1,796, however no Division II Men's single match record was available in the NCAA Record Books. In 1998, Rockhurt averaged 1,227 per contest.

The grand opening celebration included CSU Stanislaus men's and women's soccer matches against UC San Diego, tours of the fitness center, food, face painting, and more. Associated Students, Inc. hosted a student-body BBQ, and athletes from local junior high schools participated in a 4x100-meter relay.

The Student Recreation Complex, which opened in late August, features a fitness center, 2,100-seat lighted soccer stadium, the Al Brenda all-weather track, and lighted intramural sports fields.
