KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Stan State men's soccer capped its historic 2025 season with five Warriors earning United Soccer Coaches All-America honors, as Ian Reis, Gerardo Flores, Angel Ruiz-Hernandez, Samuel Villanueva, and Emmanuel Duran were all selected to the NCAA Division II All-America teams under the guidance of head coach John Powell. The five-player haul tied Stan State with Fort Hays State for the most All-Americans in the nation and further highlighted a record-setting year in which the Warriors finished 17–2–1 — the most wins in program history — won the CCAA Tournament championship, reached the NCAA Third Round for the first time and spent two weeks ranked No. 1 nationally.

All five All-Americans were also United Soccer Coaches First Team All-West Region selections and First Team All-CCAA honorees, underscoring the team's dominance throughout the season. In addition, Gerardo Flores, Samuel Villanueva, and Angel Ruiz-Hernandez were named to the D2CCA First Team All-West Region. Five Warriors — Ian Reis, Samuel Villanueva, Angel Ruiz-Hernandez, Emmanuel Duran, and Alexis Cervantes — were selected to the CCAA Championships All-Tournament Team during the Warriors' title run. Head coach John Powell was honored as the CCAA Coach of the Year after guiding Stan State to one of the most successful seasons in program history.

Flores earned CCAA Forward of the Year honors, Ruiz-Hernandez was named the CCAA Goalkeeper of the Year, and Sebastian Carbajal was selected the CCAA Freshman of the Year and a Second Team All-CCAA performer. Additional All-CCAA honorees included Adrian Yepez, Jose Ponce, Landon Leal-Ruiz, and Federico Barbieri, who all earned honorable mention recognition. Beyond regional recognition, Villanueva was selected a D2CCA First Team All-American and Ruiz-Hernandez earned D2CCA Third Team All-America honors.

Senior defender and vice captain Ian Reis earned First Team All-America recognition after anchoring a back line that allowed just 11 goals across 20 matches, finishing with a dominant 0.55 goals-against average and 12 shutouts. Reis played every minute of the season with 1,800 minutes logged and contributed a goal and an assist while helping hold opponents to a .054 shooting percentage. His leadership and command of the back line were central to Stan State's defensive identity. He was also named the CCAA Tournament Most Valuable Defensive Player and earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

Junior forward Gerardo Flores earned First Team All-America recognition after producing one of the most dynamic attacking seasons in Stan State history. The CCAA Forward of the Year finished with nine goals, six assists, 24 points, and five game-winning goals while leading the team with 62 shots. His 24 points rank fifth on the program's single-season list, and his nine goals stand sixth. Recognized once as the FloCollege/CCAA Offensive Player of the Week and selected to the D2CCA First Team All-West Region, Flores consistently stretched opposing defenses with his pace and creativity while also climbing the program's career assist charts.

Senior goalkeeper Angel Ruiz-Hernandez earned Second Team All-America honors after turning in one of the greatest goalkeeping seasons in school history. The CCAA Goalkeeper of the Year posted a 17–2–1 record, a 0.55 goals-against average, an .866 save percentage, and 11 shutouts while making 71 saves in more than 1,793 minutes. He set program single-season records for shutouts, save percentage, and goals-against average. Ruiz-Hernandez also earned D2CCA First Team All-West Region and D2CCA Third Team All-America honors and was named to the CCAA All-Tournament Team. He now ranks second in career shutouts with 17.5 and holds the best career goals-against average in school history among keepers with at least 1,000 minutes played.

Senior defender and team captain Samuel Villanueva earned Second Team All-America honors after recording 13 assists—setting a new single-season program record—along with two goals and 17 points. He became the program's all-time assists leader with 17 career assists while playing 1,620 minutes as the team's organizer and primary distributor on the pitch. Villanueva earned D2CCA First Team All-West Region and D2CCA First Team All-America honors and was selected the CCAA Tournament Most Valuable Offensive Player while earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Academically, Villanueva and teammate Adrian Yepez were named CSC Academic All-District, highlighting their achievements both on the pitch and in the classroom.

Junior forward Emmanuel Duran completed Stan State's All-America contingent with a Third Team selection after a breakout season in which he led the Warriors with 10 goals and added three assists for 23 points. His .333 shooting percentage, .567 shots-on-goal rate, and four game-winning goals anchored the Warriors' attack. A two-time FloCollege/CCAA Offensive Player of the Week and a CCAA All-Tournament Team honoree, Duran's 10 goals rank fifth on the program's single-season list, while his 23 points place him seventh.

Powell's leadership was central to Stan State's rise to national prominence. He was named the CCAA Coach of the Year, and he and assistants Eduardo Flores, Desmond Madrigal, and Casey Clark were honored as the United Soccer Coaches West Region Coaching Staff of the Year — recognition that reflected the Warriors' remarkable consistency, tactical identity, and statistical dominance throughout the season.

Together, the five All-CCAA, All-Region, All-Tournament, and All-America honorees formed the core of a transformational season for Stan State. Their combined contributions helped deliver historic achievements including the first CCAA Tournament title since 2012, the program's first NCAA Third Round appearance, a school-record 14-match unbeaten streak, and one of the most statistically dominant seasons ever recorded at Stan State. Their excellence — individually and collectively — elevated the Warriors to their most nationally decorated roster in school history and solidified their place among the premier programs in NCAA Division II soccer.
