Box Score

LOS ANGELES -- Wynter Turner's layup with a minute left gave the Cal State Stanislaus Warriors a must win on the road as the Warriors defeated Cal State L.A., 70-67, in overtime.

With the win, the Warriors' fourth straight victory, Stanislaus improve to 9-16 overall and 8-13 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The Warriors remain in the race for the eighth and final spot in the conference tournament. Stanislaus will have to beat Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday to force a tie for eighth place.

Katie Busi led the Warrior with 16 points before fouling out. Christin Gowan continues to play well with 13 points and six rebounds. Alishea Kelly and Nathalie Olveda each had 10.

After leading for most of the game and 31-22 at the break, the Warriors remained in control early in the second half until Cal State L.A. made a run -- mostly due to its chances on the free throw line.

The Golden Eagles (4-22, 2-19 CCAA) turned a 15-point deficit into an one-point lead at 12:01 to play on a Sonia Miller three-pointer. A see-saw battle ensued until a Busi jumper tied the game at 1:30 to play. Busi fouled out seconds later and allowed LA's Shator Dearman to nail two free throws for a two-point lead.

The Warriors, however, got a timely layup by Andreanna Marshall with :30 left to tie the score and sent the game into overtime.

In OT, Cal State L.A. built a three-point lead, but five straight points by Olveda gave CSUS the lead. Her three-pointer at 1:35 made it 67-65.

Again, the Golden Eagles got to the line to tie the game -- this time a pair of free throws by Jazzi Johnson -- to set up Turner's heroic bucket.

For the game, Cal State L.A. tried 41 free throws and made 25 of them. The Warriors were called on 30 fouls against LA's 18. Three Warriors -- Busi, Kelly and Jasmine Carter -- all fouled out.
