ROHNERT PARK -- The Cal State Stanislaus women's tennis team continues to roll as the Warriors extended their winning streak to seven matches with a 7-2 win over Sonoma State on Tuesday.

More importantly, the 19th ranked Warriors keep pace with UC San Diego for the California Collegiate Athletic Association race, improving to 7-1 in conference play with two matches to go. The Warriors are now 7-4 overall.

In Tuesday's make-up match at No. 35 Sonoma State, the Warriors picked up two wins during doubles competition with Katie Eng and Verena Preikschas beating Stephanie Luk and Molly Maguire, 8-3. Eng and Preikschas remain undefeated during conference play with an 8-0 record. The duo went 10-0 last season during league play.

Stanislaus also won at No. 2 doubles with Vanesa Reibstein and Brianna McClintock taking cared of Jessica Harris and Haley Hickock, 8-4. They are now 4-0 as a doubles team this season.

The Warriors then won at No. 1-4 and No. 6 singles action with the top four singles players all picking up victories with relative ease.

Preikschas improved to 6-2 in CCAA play at No. 1 with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Luk. Reibstein stays undefeated at 8-0 at No. 2 with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Hickock. Eng was victorious over Jeanette Peck, 6-2, 6-0 and Arina Polovnikova beat Stephanie Hoffmire, 6-1, 6-1 as well.

At No. 6 singles, where the match lasted nearly an hour and a half longer than the rest when these two met in Turlock, Warrior Erin McGurty prevailed over Harris in three tight sets. McGurty won 7-6 (8-6), 5-7 and 10-7.

The Warriors have two matches remaining during regular season play. They take on Cal State L.A. on Friday before a showdown at UC San Diego in La Jolla on Saturday. The UCSD match could determine the CCAA champion. UCSD, now 8-1 in CCAA, lost to Cal Poly Pomona last week to end its 65-CCAA match winning streak.
