Series Notes: Cal Poly Pomona leads the all-time head-to-head series record 19-6 after a four-game winning streak … the last time the Warriors beat the Broncos (64-62) was Feb. 15, 2008, in Pomona.
The Last Time We Met... was on Feb. 6, 2010 in Pomona when the Warriors were held to 32 points (65-32) on 25.6 percent shooting.
Frank Monge had nine points and five rebounds in that game.
About Cal Poly Pomona: The Broncos dropped both games on the road last weekend at Sonoma State (82-60) and Humboldt State (64-62) … Cal Poly Pomona's only CCAA win this season was a 75-65 win over Cal State Monterey Bay on Dec. 30 … Dwayne Fells averages 13.7 points and 6.5 rebounds pere game … 3-point shooter Mitchell Anderson chips in 13.1 points per game.

Series Notes: The teams split the series last year after a CSUSB six-game winning streak over the Warriors from 2006 to 2009 … The Coyotes lead the all-time series 24-7 and are 14-1 against the Warriors at home.
The Last Time We Met... was on Feb. 5, 2010 in San Bernardino. The Coyotes won 71-57 behind 22 points from Corey Caston …
Frank Monge had 11 points for Stanislaus.
About Cal State San Bernardino: The Coyotes have won three of last four games and are coming off a 78-72 win at Sonoma State. They lost to Humboldt State, 91-72, on Friday … Aaron Hills and Corey Caston leads the team with 11.8 and 11.7 poitns per game averages, respectively … CSUSB is tied for second in the CCAA with a 74.8 points per game average. They lead the conference in 3-pointers made (7.7 per game).

Riding a two-game winning streak, the Cal State Stanislaus men's basketball team will have the task of taking on defending national champion Cal Poly Pomona on Friday. They will also face Cal State San Bernardino, where
Larry Reynolds used to coach.
Last Week
For the first time this season, the Warriors have a two-game winning streak after smashing Cal State East Bay, 77-49, Friday and edged UC San Diego 57-55, Saturday.
Two-Game Winning Streak
The two-game winning streak is not only the team's first in 2010-11, it was also the Warriors' first such streak since last January. The Warriors beat Cal State San Bernardino on Jan. 3, 2010 and took cared of Cal State East Bay the following Friday, Jan. 7 … We will have to go back to Nov. 28-29, 2009 for the last time the Warriors won both games in a weekend (Lamont Ramsey Classic at Menlo College) … The Warriors won four games straight to start the 2009-10 season and the Reynolds era.
CCAA Weekend Sweep
The pair of conference wins last week gave the Warriors their first CCAA weeeknd sweep since the end of the 2006-07 season. The Warriors won two road games on Feb. 23-24, 2007, at San Francisco State (97-92, OT) and Cal State Monterey Bay (96-89).
Biggest CCAA Win
The 28-point win on Friday was the Warriors' biggest margin of victory since beating Cal Maritime 89-60 to start the 2009-10 season. It tied the team's biggest win over a California Collegiate Athletic Association opponent … The Warriors beat Grand Canyon, 79-51, on Feb. 13, 2004.
Scott Top Rebounder
Evan Scott has led the team, or shared the team-lead, in rebounding in each of the last five games. During this stretch he has grabbed 45 rebounds (9.0 rebounds per game) … Scott now leads the team with 66 rebounds and 5.5 per game while ranking 13th in the CCAA.
Impressive Run
The Warriors used an impressive 20-0 run to start the second half last Friday en route to the blow out win over Cal State East Bay … the surge also helped the team to its largest lead this season when the Warriors led the Pioneers by 31 points (73-42) with less than four minutes left to play.
Daviess Hits the Bombs
Sharp shooter
Dan Daviess was 4-for-4 from three-point land Friday night against CSUEB. He has now made 44.7 percent of his three-point tries this season (21-for-47) which is fifth-best in the conference.
It's Just a Little Skid on the Road
Since upsetting Humboldt State on Dec. 4 (handing the Lumberjacks their only loss of the season, still) at Fitzpatrick Arena, the Warriors are unfortunately on a little skid with four road losses in the last five games. The only win was over NAIA Cal Baptist, 65-56, at home … The Warriors are still looking for their first conference road victory this season.
Reggie Jones Among Leaders
When counting all games,
Reggie Jones is now 9th in scoring (14.3 ppg). Jones fell to second in CCAA games only, now averaging 17.4 points per contest. He is also 7th in field goal percentage (.558), 14th in free throw percentage (.767) and ninth in blocked shots (0.9).
Head Coach Larry Reynolds
Larry Reynolds is in his second season as the Warriors' head coach. In his first season, the Warriors went 10-17, the first-10-win season since a 13-16 mark in 2006-07. Reynolds came to Cal State Stanislaus after leading Long Beach State to a NCAA tournament appearance in 2006-07 when the 49ers went 24-8. As a Division II coach at Cal State San Bernardino from 1997 to 2002, Reynolds posted a 110-35 overall record. Under Reynolds, CSUSB won three CCAA titles, two regional championships and made four NCAA tournament appearances. Reynolds was named CCAA coach of the year four times and was the west region coach of the year in 1998-99 following the Coyotes' West Region championship.
Fitzpatrick Arena
Warrior Arena was renamed Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena at the start the 2010-11 season. The arena is named for Ed and Bertha Fitzpatrick, owners of Valley Lexus/Valley BMW in Modesto and other car dealerships in the Bay Area. The Fitzpatricks have been long-time supporters of California State University Stanislaus. The gym has been named Warrior Arena since 1999, 21 years after it was built.
CCAA Basketball Championships
The 2011 CCAA Men's & Women's Basketball Championship tournament will be held at the beginning of March. Eight teams qualify for the event with first round games on campus site March 1. The four winners will advance to the semifinals and finals in Hayward on the campus of Cal State East Bay. The winner of the tournament would receive the automatic bid for the NCAA tournament.
Warriors picked 7th in CCAA
In a vote of the conference coaches, the Cal State Stanislaus men's basketball were predicted to be a conference tournament team by the end of the 2010-11 season. The Warriors were picked to finish seventh in the preseason poll. The Warriors are coming off a 6-16 CCAA season as they finished 10th. Defending national champion Cal Poly Pomona received 10 of 12 first place votes and is the favor to win the title in 2010-11.
