TURLOCK — Two Cal State Stanislaus players had double-doubles in scoring and rebounding in a game that was a battle of the Warriors as the home team beat William Jessup, 73-45, Tuesday night.

Lauren Godde had a career-high 22 points and 13 rebounds for her first career double-double. Theresa Henderson scored 15 with 10 boards to lead the Cal State Stanislaus Warriors as they improved to 1-1. It is Henderson's second double-double in as many games.

Rosa Tirado also had a solid night with 15 points -- nine in the first half -- on 6 of 9 shooting. She also dished seven assists

Wiliam Jessup, also the Warriors, was led by Cassie Davidson with 11 points but fell to 0-8 on the season.

The slow game featured a combined 48 fouls with Stanislaus being called 25 times.

Cal State Stanislaus hurried out to a 14-4 lead five minutes into the game, but the fouls started to fly allowing William Jessup to go to the line to stay close. A pair of Davison free throws at 9:41 made it just a six-point game, 18-12.

However, Stanislaus would proved to be too strong especailly with the sharp-shooting of Henderson, who scored 15 of her points in the first half. An 18-2 run that featured a pair of Tirado three-pointers gave CSUS a 22-point, 36-14, lead with three-and-a-half left to play until intermission.

Despite being slightly smaller in size, the Warriors also out-rebounded William Jessup 23-10 in the first half before the 44-27 final count.

Cal State Stanislaus out-scored Jessup 30-20 in the paint, largely thanks to a career night by Godde. The sophomore from Jackson was 7-for-12 from the field with eight free throws despite being in foul trouble. Her previous career high was 17 points (last Jan. 28 vs. Cal State L.A.). She had scored in double digits just twice during her freshman year.

Godde's twin sister, Erin Godde, chipped in nine points with five rebounds and Jameiz Terrell contributed seven points with three assists.

The Stanislaus Warriors will be in action again two days after Thanksgiving as they host Dominican on Saturday for an afternoon affair at 4 p.m.
