Theresa Henderson continues to light up the scoreboard as the senior scored a career high 25 points but visiting Cal State L.A came out on top, 77-64, Friday night.
Henderson scored 23 or more points for the fourth straight game and notched double-doubles for the fifth consecutive game. The CCAA's leading scorer scored 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. She also had two blocked shots and two steals.
Cal State Stanislaus, however, dropped to 4-9 overall and 1-8 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The Warriors await Cal State Dominguez Hills for a Saturday night match-up. The Toros lost at Chico State, 82-53, and are 2-14 overall, 1-8 in the CCAA.
Cal State L.A., led by Lacy Ramon with 18 points, improved to 8-5 overall and 6-3 in conference play. Ramon scored 16 of her points in the first half.
Henderson, now averaging 20.7 points per game, is on pace to post the best scoring average since Shannon Donnelly averaged 21.9 points per game during the 2002-03 season.
Friday night's game featured the top scoring team in the conference in Cal State L.A. (69.3 points per game) and the Warriors, who gave up the most points a game (70.5 points per game).
Stanislaus did hang close in the opening half but a late Cal State L.A. run closed out the half with a 46-38 Golden Eagle lead.
Jameiz Terrell hit a three-pointer to start the second half to cut the L.A. lead to five, but that was as close as the Warriors would get. CSULA shot 46.2 percent in the second half versus the Warriors' 27.8 percent to pull away.
Henderson was the only Warrior to shoot better than 50 percent going 12 for 24.
Erin Godde, who scored the team's first two buckets, finished 3 of 8 for seven points.
Terrell finished with 14 points with four three-pointers and
Lauren Godde had 10 points and seven rebounds to pace Stanislaus.
Tessondra Williams also chipped in 17 points for Cal State L.A.
