Road Trips Not So Kind...
The Stanislaus women played seven straight games on the road during the month of Decemeber and to start the new year. The Warriors went 2-5 during that stretch and were out-scored by an average of nearly 14 points (74.6 versus 60.7 points per game). These tough road losses included the two toughtest trips during CCAA play where they had to go to Pomona and  back up to San Francisco one weekend, then make the 101-trek North to Sonoma State and Humboldt State.

...But Ended on a High Note
The Warriors did end the seven-game road stretch on a positive note with a win at Chico State Monday night. It was the Warriors' first CCAA win this season.

Oh So-Sweet Victory at Chico
Beating Chico State on its home court had proved to be tough, but Monday's win was extra sweet as it marked the second time the Warriors beat the Wildcats in Acker Gym during the CCAA era, which started in 1998. The Warriors were 1-12 at Chico prior to the win with the other win coming late in 2003, when the Warriors made the NCAA tournament.

Home Sweet Home
Cal State Stanislaus will be home for four straight and eight of the next 10 games. This season so far, the Warrior women are 2-1 at the Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena, where they were an impressive 9-4 in 2010-11.

Henderson Remains Hot
Theresa Henderson continues to lead the CCAA in scoring as the senior now averages 19.6 points per game. In the last seven games, Henderson averaged 20.4 points and 8.9 rebounds per game with four 20-point games and four double-doubles (now with six this season and in her career). Henderson has already scored 196 points with 94 rebounds through 10 games. The sharp-shooter is 81 for 185 from the floor for a .438 clip and leads the team with 15 steals.

Lauren Godde Top Rebounder
Sophomore Lauren Godde is still atop of  the rebounding leaderboard among CCAA players as she is averaging 9.6 rebounds per game overall. Godde is coming off three games of at least nine rebonds, including a double-double on Monday. Against Chico State, Godde scored 16 points and pulled 12 boards.

Sister Getting In the Act
Lauren Godde's twin sister Erin Godde was also a factor in Monday's win as she turned in a career high with 14 points on 5-for-6 shooting. She also pulled six rebounds.

Scoring Discrepancies
Over the last seven games, the Warriors are winning close games, but their margin of defeats are a little greater. In two wins, the Warriors' margin of victory is 1.5 points (70 to 68.5). In the five setbacks, opponents outscored Stanislaus 77 to 57.

Taking the Long-er Shots
Cal State Stanislaus is one of the better three-point shooting teams as the Warriors have made 34.1 percent of their long attempts. That number ranks the team fifth in the CCAA entering the week. Jameiz Terrell leads the team with with 17 made and a 48.6 percent success rate. She ranks third in the conference in percentage and fifth in made treys.

Head Coach Sharon Turner
Sharon Turner entered her 10th season as the Warriors' head coach with a career record of 88-154. In her first season, in 2004-05, she led the Warriors to an NCAA Tournament apperance. In 2008-09, the Warriors qualified for the CCAA Championship tournament for the first time. She has taken the Warriors to the CCAA Championship tournament two out of the last three years (missing the turnament in 2010 due to tiebreakers). Last year was  her most successful conference season since 2002-03 as the Warriors posted an 11-11 CCAA mark.

Fitzpatrick Arena
Warrior Arena was renamed Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena at the start the 2010-11 season. The arena is named for Ed and Bertha Fitzpatrick, owners of Valley Lexus/Valley BMW in Modesto and other car dealerships in the Bay Area. The Fitzpatricks have been long-time supporters of CSU Stanislaus. The gym has been named Warrior Arena since 1999, 21 years after it was built.

CCAA Preseason Coaches Poll
After making the tournament for the second time in the three years, the Warriors start the 2011-12 campaign low on the coaches radar. In a vote of the conference's head coaches, the Warriors were predicted to finish 11th in 2011-12.

CCAA Basketball Championships
The 2012 CCAA Men's & Women's Basketball Championship tournament will be held at the beginning of March. Eight teams qualify for the event with first round games on campus site Feb. 28. The four winners will advance to the semifinals and finals, March 2-3, in La Jolla on the campus of UC San Diego. The winner of the tournament would receive the automatic bid for the NCAA tournament.
