TURLOCK — The Cal State Stanislaus women's basketball team put together a late rally but came up a little short as the Warriors fell to Cal State San Bernardino, 65-59, Saturday night.

Miss consistency Theresa Henderson scored another 24 points and pulled 11 more rebounds to lead the Warriors. Stanislaus, however, dropped to 4-8 overall and 1-7 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

For the second night, Henderson put up big numbers and now has eight double-doubles on the season. She has also scored 20 or more points seven times. In Friday night's loss against UC San Diego, Henderson also scored 24 points with 10 rebounds.

Twin sisters Lauren Godde and Erin Godde each scored 12 points. Erin also pulled seven rebounds while Lauren grabbed six. Rosa Tirado grabbed eight rebounds and dished six assists.

Angela Streets scored 16 points with 11 rebounds to lead Cal State San Bernardino. Kristen Huffman also scored 11 with 11 rebounds to pace the Coyotes (4-8, 3-5 CCAA).

It was a pretty close game throughout until CSUSB pulled ahead by 11 with 5:00 to go in the game. Henderson had pulled the Warriors within one five minutes earlier but the Coyotes used a mini-run of 16-6 to go ahead.

After CSUSB nailed a free throw for a 62-50 lead at 2:34, Henderson returned to the court after a seven-minute break. Henderson sparked a run with a jumper and an Erin Godde and another Henderson layup later Stanislaus pulled within six.

Street, however, burried a trey to answer the CSUS 6-0 run as the Coyotes held on for the win.

The Warriors out-rebounded the Coyotes 42-40 with 19 offensive rebounds, but Stanislaus was cold from long range missing all 11 of their attempts. For the night, the Warriors shot 33.3 percent while CSUSB made 41.9 percent of its attempts including 5 for 7 from the three-point line.

Cal State Stanislaus is at home next weekend for two more CCAA contests. The Warriors host Cal State L.A. on Friday and Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday.
