TURLOCK — The 33rd ranked Cal State Stanislaus women's tennis team remains undefeated at home as the Warriors shutout Hawaii Hilo, 9-0, on a beautiful sunny day at the CSUS Tennis Courts.

The Warriors got into some close battles during doubles play and eventually took control with three wins in team competition. That parlayed into some quality matches in favor of the Warriors during singles play. Cal State Stanislaus, now 6-0 at home this season including a scrimmage, improved to 8-3 overall.

Cal State Stanislaus will take the three-match winning stretch into Tuesday's pivotal contest against No. 5 Hawaii Pacific. HPU is also ranked second in the West Region and features Zora Vlckova, the ninth ranked singles player in Division II.

On Sunday, No. 1 and No. 3 doubles teams battled to 8-5 scores while the No. 2 team of Davina Meza and Kelsey Chrisco took cared of Anna Hamilin and Lindsey Shin, 8-2. The win by Verena Preikschas and Katie Eng marks the duo's 10th this season giving the pair a 10-1 record. They each now has 62 career wins in four seasons.

Preikschas then shutout her singles opponent Melanie Viriyapunt, 6-0, 6-0, for her third straight 6-0 set score. In the last three matches, Preikschas has only allowed three games to her opponents.

Eng, at No. 3, and Chrisco at No. 4, were in command of their matches while Meza and McKenzy Harden played solid matches to put away their Vulcan opponents. A last minute line-up insert, Lindsey West, rallied from behind to win in three sets.
