SAN FRANCISCO — The Cal State Stanislaus women's tennis team swept doubles play to start the day's competition en route to a 7-2 win over Academy of Art on Friday.

Verena Preikschas and Katie Eng, the No. 19 ranked doubles team in Division II, shutout Academy of Art's top duo Kunkanda Phukchampa and Jenny Johansson. Davina Meza and Kelsey Chrisco then beat Daniela Amelunge and Diane Phan, 8-4.

Then, at No. 3 doubles, Heather Cotter and McKenzy Harden edged Paola Correa Fe and Courtney DeWalt, 8-5, for the sweep.

Preikschas won her 58th career match with a 6-1, 6-1 decision over Phukchampa. Meza, Eng, and Harden all won their singles competition in straight sets.
