Hit the Road, Warriors
This week's trip will be the Warriors' first of two consecutive weekends in Southern California before a home weekend on Jan. 25-26. Cal State Stanislaus will be playing away from home in four of the next five weekends. The next five road games are all in Southern California.

First Conference Win
Cal State Stanislaus picked up its first conference win last Saturday in a 72-65 win over Sonoma State. It was also first-year head coach Wayman Strickland's first CCAA victory.

Two out of Three
The Warriors have won two out of their last three games. It's a first time the team has done so since early in the 2011 season — a stretch of 30 games.

Another Double-Double for Lauren
Lauren Godde earned her fifth double-double of the season — 13th of her career — last Saturday when she scored 28 points with 11 rebounds. She scored 17 of those points in the first half, mostly from the line with 10 free throws. In the second half, she was 5-for-7 from the field to finish the night 8-for-16. Her 11-for-14 night at the line was a season-best.

Cotton Hits Late Treys
After struggling for most of the weekend shooting the rock, Briana Cotton got hot at the right time to help the Warriors beat Sonoma State. Cotton made three straight three-point tries late in the game to seal the win. Her first triple gave Stanislaus its final lead and her third gave the team a five-point lead with 26 seconds left. Before that stretch, Cotton was 2-for-5 for the game and 4-for her last 12 shot attempts including Friday's game … Katie Staack also got into the act with two of the team's eight three-pointers in the game against SSU.

Strong Second Half
Another key to the victory was the solid shooting by the team in the second half. Collectively, the Warriors were 17 for 27 (63 percent) for the best one-half shooting this season.

Taking the Free Points
The Warriors also took advantage of the free points as they were 14-for-18 from the foul line with Lauren Godde converting on 11 of 14 tries.

Godde Twins in the Post
We know Lauren Godde can score (she's third in the CCAA in scoring with 17.7 points per game). Along with sister Erin Godde, the twins are both in the top six among CCAA players in total rebounds and defensive rebounds per game. Lauren is also ninth in offensive boards per game while Erin is tied for sixth with 0.7 blocks per game.

Speaking of Top Scorers
Saturday night's game at UC San Diego will feature two of the top three scorers in the CCAA. Lauren Godde is third in the conference in scoring at 17.7 per game. UC San Diego's Daisy Feder leads the league with 21.1 points per game. Feder tops the CCAA with 3.3 three-pointers per game. She's made 43 this season. This could be trouble for the Warriors since Stanislaus has allowed the most treys among all CCAA teams.
