Box Score ROHNERT PARK — The Warriors have been the better second half team in many games this season. Friday night was not the case at Sonoma State as the Seawolves out-shot Stanislaus to win 65-62 inside the 'Wolves Den.
Led by as many as 12 points early in the second half, the Warriors allowed Sonoma State to comeback — and after 11 ties in the game, SSU finally took over with 2:08 left to play for the win.
Taylor Bell and
Nick Hodge each had 14 points to lead the Warriors but they lost for the fourth straight game to fall to 7-12 overall and 4-11 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
Marcus Walters and
Ray Mitchell each chipped in 12 points with Mitchell grabbing nine rebounds.
Sonoma State (9-10, 7-8 CCAA) was led by Patrick Scott's 16 points. Justin Herold had 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Seawolves shot 60.9 percent in the second half to out-pace the Warriors' 40 percent (8 for 20). SSU out-scored the Warriors, 38-28.
Bell's three-pointer 1:08 into the second half gave Stanislaus its biggest lead at 39-27. But during a 10-minute span, SSU out-scored the Warriors 21-9 to tie the game at 48-48.
Cal State Stanislaus will be at San Francisco State (12-7, 10-5 CCAA) Saturday night.
