Box Score HAYWARD — The Cal State Stanislaus men's basketball team used a 14-4 run in the final 100 seconds of the game to close out the 2012-13 season with a 75-70 victory at Cal State East Bay.
Wes Bartole led all players with 21 points, including nailing 12 of 13 free throws, as the Warriors finish the year 10-16 overall and 7-15 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
Stanislaus trailed 66-61 at 2:30 left to go after a Pioneer bucket, but that momentum turned with a final Warrior push.
A pair of Bartole free throws started a mini, unanswered 8-0 run to give the Warriors a 69-66 lead. The final three points in that strech was a three-point play by Hodge as was fouled after making a layup.
Two
Clinton Tremelling free throws and four more foul shots made by Bartole closed out the game for Stanislaus.
For the second straight night, Tremelling was sharp outside the three-point arch. Saturday night he made four en route to an 18-point night.
Sam Marcus chipped in 13 points and
Nick Hodge had 10 points with eight rebounds. Bartole also had seven boards.
Cal State East Bay (7-19, 6-16 CCAA) was led by Vincent Capellino who had 23 points.
