Davina Meza once again was the only Warrior to pick up a victory as the women's tennis team fell to No. 30 Academy of Art, 8-1, Saturday afternoon.
It was the Warriors' third straight 8-1 decision with Meza winning at No. 1 singles competition. She beat the Urban Knights' Nina Gajdosikova in three sets after taking the first 6-4. Gajdosikova rallied in the second set for a 7-5 win before Meza rolled to a 10-3 in the super-tiebreaker third set.
Meza improved her personal record to 12-6 overall and 7-3 in dual match play.
The No. 2 doubles team of
Kelsey Chrisco and
Jessica Stokes nearly pulled off a great win before falling to AAU's duo, 9-7.
