TURLOCK —In a rare home match against a Division I program, the Cal State Stanislaus women's tennis team competed at the top of the line-up to earn a pair of wins over the UC Davis Aggies.
Davina Meza and McKenzy Harden earned a victory over Ellie Edles and Tiffany Pham in the No. 1 doubles match with a strong 8-6 win. It win marked the Stanislaus duo's second win over Division I opponents. Meza and Harden beat a team from Pacific in November at the Fresno State Bulldog Classic.
Meza then followed that performance with a solid two-set win over Layla Sanders at No. 1 singles competition. Meza beat the Aggie, 6-2, 6-2, to improve her personal record to 13-6 overall and 8-3 in dual match action. Meza has won four straight matches in singles play.
Against a Division I team, the team score total is seven with doubles play count as one point for the team with two victories. This is different from Division II scoring with a maximum of nine team points.
