TURLOCK —
Davina Meza won the only match of the day, in the Warriors' season finale, as Cal State Stanislaus dropped an 8-1 decision to No. 19 ranked UC San Diego.
Meza beat UCSD's top player Melissa Breisacher at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-2, to highlight the day for the Warriors side as they finished the season 1-13. Meza was a bright spot for a rebuilding Stanislaus program as the sophomore tallied a 15-7 overall record with a 10-4 dual play mark, all at No. 1 singles. She also won seven of her last 10 matches.
At No. 1 doubles, Meza and
McKenzy Harden took Breisacher and Kyra Scott to 8-3 before losing.
