GLENDALE, Ariz. —
McKenzy Harden won her second straight match at No. 1 singles and the Warriors' top doubles team was also victorious but Cal State Stanislaus lost a close match to Dixie State, 6-3, at the Paseo Racquet Club on Saturday.
Harden, who moved up to No. 1 singles on Friday, beat Joy Naigeon, 6-3, 6-3 for her second straight win at the top spot. On Friday, the senior from Ceres was also victorious with a win over Chaminade's top singles player.
Jessica Laurie was a two-time winner on Saturday. After pairing with
J'Ana Diamond as the Warriors' top doubles duo in a 8-5 win over Stormy Dvorak and Summer Child, Laurie took down her singles opponent. The freshman beat Child with a 6-0, 6-1 score.
The other sets were closely contested with two of the four singles matches going to the third set.
Cal State Stanislaus ends the Arizona trip with a 2-1 record and the Warriors will return home to hopefully finally play a home match next Saturday, Feb. 22, against Sonoma State. The Warriors had two home matches rained out last week.
