Series Notes vs. Cal State San Bernardino: The Warriors ended a 29-match losing streak to Cal State San Bernardino on Nov. 7 in a 3-2 victory at Fitzaptrick Arena. It was Stan State's first win over the Coyotes since Nov. 3, 2000. CSUSB is now 40-3 against the Warriors all-time.Oh That Awesome Win Over the 'Yotes: The win against the CSUSB Coyotes was a total team-effort. Five Warriors had seven or more kills with Blair Ehrlich leading the way with 14 kills and Jocelyn Cervantes chipped in 12. No matter which way the Coyotes hit, there was a Warrior to defend as six players were in double digits in digs. Cervantes had 17 digs and Hailey Gruetzmacher picked up 14 to lead the way. Maddi Seidl, who split duties with Kendal Munoz, had 25 assists, 13 digs and four aces.Â
Sweet Night for the Seniors: The team had a great celebration on senior night since it was the night they upset Cal State San Bernardino. The seniors contributed greatly, too, as seniors Jordan Harris put-way five kills with four block assists, Munoz had 19 assists and 12 digs and Clairissa Larry pounded away eight kills to chip in.Beating a Nationally Ranked Team: That historicÂ
18-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-23, 15-12Â victory over then-No. 17 Cal State San Bernardino was the first time the Warriors beat a nationally ranked team in 20 tries (since then, they lost at Sonoma State No. 18 Sonoma State).
Playing a Nationally Ranked Team: Thursday night's match against No. 19 Cal State San Bernardino will be the third time the Warriors face a team ranked in the AVCA Top 25. Oddly enough, the Warriors didn't play Cal State L.A. (ranked earlier in the season) when the Golden Eagles were in the top 25. UC San Diego was also nearing the national poll but was not among the top group when facing the Warriors. When Stanislaus played Sonoma State on Sept. 26, the Seawolves weren't ranked, yet.
A Winning Season: With 16 victories this season, the Warriors posted a winning record for the first time since 2002. It is also just the third time in Division II history that the Warriors had a winning mark. The 2000 team went 18-13 and the 2002 team was 19-13.
Great CCAA Year: The Warriors finished tied for seventh in the CCAA standings, which is the best conference finish since finishing tied for fifth in 2006 (they were 8-12 that year).
7-Up, Program's Best: The Warriors had started 7-0 this season, which was the best start in program's CCAA history, besting the 6-0 start set by the 1999 squad.
Protecting the House: Stanislaus State was terrific when playing at home, going 7-3, during 2015. The Warriors' only home losses were to Sonoma State, UC San Diego and Humboldt State early in the season. They had a four-game home winning streak, which included big wins over Cal Poly Pomona and Chico State.
Where Does Blair Rank Now? Team leader
Blair Ehrlich continues to climb the charts as she's now up to No. 5 in the top 10 list for career kills with 892. Ehrlich is also third with 3,206 career attempts and ninth with 593 digs.
Hot Hitting Massengale: Taylor Massengale has posted the best hitting percentage in a season with a .323 average. She now ranks No. 4 on the career list at .259.
Top 8 in Assists: Maddi Seidl has now posted the eighth best single-season assists number with 852. She's now averaging 8.97 assists per set, which is 10th best in the single season list.
Best Defensive Team: This year's Warriors could finish with a new team record in digs per set. They are currently averaging 18.74 per set and the team mark, set in 2013, was 17.27.
