Series Notes: The Warriors have lost two straight after ending a previous 8-game losing streak against CSUMB. CSUMB now leads the series 12-11 (10-11 in CCAA play).
Last Time We Met... was Jan. 23 in Seaside as the Warriors lost an OT heartbreaker 63-59 after the Otters rally late in the second half.
Briana Cotton had 20 points to lead Cal State Stanislaus.
About the Otters: CSUMB is 3-3 in the last six but lost both games on the road last week … The Otters have the worse opponent 3-pt field goal percentage in the CCAA (33.4) … CSUMB tries the most field goals with 60.3 attempts per game … Jenna Bandy leads with 13.4 points a game.
10-Win GoalIt would be a small victory, and most certainly a feat the program can build on, if the Warriors can finish with a sweep to reach 10 wins this season. It would mark the second straight 10-plus win season under head coach
Wayman Strickland and the program's first back-to-back 10-win season since 2009-11. Last year the Warriors went 13-13.
Four-Game Winning StreakIf the Warriors can close out the year with two more wins, they could also take a four-game winning streak momentum into the offseason. A four-game winning streak would be the team's first since the start of the 2013-14 season when they won five straight. The last time a Warriors team won four consecutive CCAA games was at the end of the 2009-10 season when they took five straight to end the year 10-16.
Lone Senior Briana CottonBriana Cotton represents the only senior on the squad who will be recognized in the pre-game festivities on Saturday on Senior Night. A four-year starter, Cotton is closing in on a career scoring milestone and has led the team in three-pointers in each of the past two seasons (2012-14).
Cotton's MilestoneWith 203 points this season (second on the team to
Cassidy Sanders-Curry's 207),
Briana Cotton has tallied 941 career points heading into the final two games. She will have the opportunity to surpass 950 points which would put her at No. 6 on the career top-10 list (CCAA era). Cotton is seven points from passing assistant coach
Christin Gowan (947) and is within reach of
Lauren Godde (988).

Head Coach Wayman StricklandWayman Strickland is in his third season as the head coach of the Warriors. After inheriting a team in July, 2012 (and went 2-25 in his first season), he has turned the program around with a very competitive 13-13 season in 2013-14. Prior to his arrival at Stanislaus, Strickland was an assistant coach at Delta College. He spent nine years as a professional player in Europe and Asia after a stellar four-year career at the University of San Diego (1988-92), where he amassed 1,040 career points and 408 assists.
