DAVIS — Despite a 7-0 loss at Division I UC Davis, head coach Verek Visaraga was more than pleased with the team's performance on Saturday.

The top two singles players all took the Aggies the distance before dropping their matches in super-tiebreaker third sets before the Warriors fell to 4-11 on the season. Cal State Stanislaus will conclude its road schedule on Sunday with a match at UC Santa Cruz before finishing up with two home matches in April to end the year.

"I really thought our girls played really well. Both Jessica and J'Ana came up just short on their matches but they kept getting better and better," Visaraga said.

At No. 1 singles play, Jessica Laurie battled back in set two to even the score with her own 6-3 win to force the decisive super-tiebreaker set. UC Davis's Kristy Jorgensen, howeve, prevailed 10-4 to turn away the top Warrior.

J'Ana Diamond pushed Tiffany Pham to her limits at No. 2 singles as well. After a close 7-6 loss in set one, Diamond bounced Pham 6-2 to extend the match to the third set. In a thriller, Pham managed to escape with a 10-5 third set win.

"I am looking forward to having some success tomorrow (at UC Santa Cruz) as well as on Monday against Notre Dame (de Namur)," Visaraga said.

After Sunday's match in Santa Cruz, the Warriors will host NDNU on Monday at 1 p.m. The NDNU Argonauts will return to Turlock for the regular season finale on April 18.
