Academy of Art Urban Knights (0-2)
Series Notes: Academy of Art has won two straight in the head-to-head series after Stanislaus won the initial meeting in 2008.
Last Time We Met... was last Nov. 20 in Belmont in a 76-66 Art U win. Alysa Valentine and Cassidy Sanders-Curry each scored 14 points.
About the Urban Knights: Academy of Art lost twice in Alaska last week losing big twice to UAF (93-69) and UAA (86-49) … Rodericka Ware averaged 14.5 points a game thus far with seven made three-pointers. 3-pointers accounted for 21 of her 29 points this season … In 2015-16, the Urban Knights (a NCCA tournament team) finished 24-9 and 18-2 in the PacWest.
Notre Dame de Namur Argonauts (0-2)
Series Notes: The Warriors are 7-1 against NDNU with a four-game winning streak since 2010.
Last Time We Met... was last Nov. 21 in Belmont when the Warriors beat NDNU, 62-47. Jasmine Washington had 11 points and 8 rebounds as the Warriors' leader.
About the Argonauts: Notre Dame de Namur lost to Sonoma State (88-67) and Chico State (59-44) at home last weekend … The Argonauts face Cal State Monterey Bay on Wednesday before coming to Turlock … Jerusha Paine averaged 16 points and Emily Tevez averaged 11.5 poitns and 7.0 rebounds in the first two games … NDNU was 3-25 overall last season.
Preseason Tournaments
Prior to last week in Portland, the last time the Warriors competed in a preseason tournament was back in Dec. of 2011. In another matchup of West Region schools, the Warriors went to San Francisco to compete in the CCAA/PacWest Challenge. The Warriors went 1-1, losing to what were a fellow CCAA school, Grand Canyon, and defeating Notre Dame de Namur. Stan State will play in another preseason tournament next week in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Tough Exhibition Competition
The Warriors competed against two DI programs in preseason exhibition games earlier this season and will have three more contests against higher division programs. So far, the Warriors took on UC Davis and Nevada in early November. They will take on Sacramento State, Cal State Bakersfield and San Jose State later this season.
Hardin Scorin'
Reana Hardin had a pair of great shooting games last week in Oregon, leading the Warriors with 30 points. She made 52.4 percent of her shots (11 for 21) and was 5 of 11 from the three-point arch (45.5 percent). Saturday's 18-point game nearly matched her career-best as her personal best was 20 points (Feb. 12, 2016 at Cal State San Bernardino).
Freshman Starter
Freshman guard Angelica Baylon made two starts last weekend as one of three Warriors to start in both games. Baylon averaged 5.0 points and play an averaged of 19 minutes per game.
Against the PacWest
The Warriors have had some decent success against teams from the Pacific West Conference. They posted a 6-2 record in the last three seasons with three wins in four match-ups in 2015-16. Both defeats were against Academy of Art.

Points Off Turnovers
So far, opponents have been able to take advantage of Stan State turnovers as Central Washington and Concordia combined for 49 points in those situations. The Warriors have committed 45 turnovers in two games.
