ROHNERT PARK — The No. 50 ranked Stanislaus State women's tennis team battled closely with a highly regarded Sonoma State squad on Sunday before falling to the Seawolves, 9-0, on the SSU Tennis Courts.
The Warriors gave up some great fight especially in doubles competition before coming up short. At No. 1 doubles,
Jaella Conway and
Cassidy Ferrell lost for just the second time to DIvision II opponents this season with an 8-6 score to Jensyn Warren and Jordyn Kearney. The No. 3 doubles match was also close before Warriors
Analyssa Tallas and
Ebone Qualls drop the 8-5 decision.
Sonoma State, ranked No. 26 in the latest ITA Rankings, improved to 6-0 on the season while the Warriors fell to 4-4.
The Seawolves won all singles matches in straight sets with the top singles match the closest between Warren and Conway, 6-4, 6-4.
