DAVIS — The Stanislaus State women's tennis team prepared for the upcoming conference tournament by facing at Division I opponent as the Warriors ended their regular season schedule with a 7-0 loss at Davis on Sunday.
The Warriors were not able to come away with a set win, but played well against the higher division opponent after an hour rain delay on the campus of UC Davis.
With
Jaella Conway recovering from a foot injury, she was limited to doubles play on the day but had to retire early at the No. 1 position with teammate
Cassidy Ferrell.
At the top singles match,
J'Ana Diamond rallied before falling 6-3, 6-3, to Lani-Rae Green. Ferrell, too, challenged her opponent at No. 2 singles before a 6-4, 6-4 decision.
The Warriors will participate in the Pacific West Conference Tournament, set to start on Wednesday, April 13. It is the Warriors' first time qualifying for the conference tournament since joining the PacWest.
