SURPRISE, Ariz. — The Stanislaus State women's tennis team came up a little short in its historical debut at its first conference championship tournament appearance on Wednesday as the Warriors fell to Concordia Irvine, 5-3.
Jaella Conway and
Cassidy Ferrell won their match at No.1 doubles, 8-4, at the start of the day to give the No. 9 seeded Warriors a point. However, the Eagles sweep through the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles match, 8-0.
No. 8 seeded Concordia then won three points in singles play before
J'Ana Diamond was able to rally to come back at No. 2 singles.
Ferrell posted an impressive win over Luisa Sterkel at No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-1 while
Analyssa Tallas defeated her opponent, Caitlyn Uzzi, 6-1 and 6-2.
The Warriors will play in a consolation match against Dixie State Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
