This week the Stan State tennis team will face two different opponents. They will travel to Sonoma State for a series of matches on Saturday, and will return home to host UC Santa Cruz on Sunday.

Series Notes:  Last season the Warriors challenged the #26 Seawolves twice losing both series 0-9 … In the fall of this season, Sonoma State participated in the Warrior Tennis Invitational hosted by Stan State in October. The Warriors won seven out of the ten total matches they played against the Seawolves.
 
UC Santa Cruz
Series Notes: Stan State has played UC Santa Cruz only three times in dual matches. The past two years the Warriors traveled to Santa Cruz and came home with wins. In the Spring of 2016 the Warriors were victorious 9-0, and in the spring of 2015 Stan State won 6-3 over the Banana Slugs. Previous to the 2014-15 season, the Warriors hosted UC Santa Cruz in the spring of 2012 and earned a win 9-0.
 
Last Week: Last week the women's tennis team traveled to Southern California to challenge Grossmont College and UC San Diego. Due to heavy rain, all matches against Grossmont College were canceled. Stan State lost 1-8 to the Tritons, and the Warriors no. 1 doubles pair Cassidy Ferrell and Jaella Conway earned the only victory. Ferrell and Conway won 8-1 against the Tritons pair on Sunday.
 
ITA Rankings: In the latest Oracle/ITA Rankings, released on Wednesday, Stanislaus State is ranked 49th in the nation and No. 10 in the West. No individual rankings were released.
