ROHNERT PARK — After playing in the most competitive doubles match to start the day,
Cassidy Ferrell and Jaella Conway posted singles victories before 23rd ranked Sonoma State takes a 7-2 win over No. 49 Stanislaus State in women's tennis Saturday afternoon.
Ferrell and Conway both won their singles contests in straight sets in two quality wins over strong opponents. At No. 2
Cassidy Ferrell beat Jordyn Kearny, 6-3, 6-1. Then at No. 3 singles, Conway was a 6-3, 6-3 winner over Jenna DeTurk.
J'Ana Diamond battled Jensyn Warren at No. 1 singles before dropping a 6-1, 6-2 match.
At the top doubles position, Ferrell and Conway rallied to a 8-3 decision before falling to Sonoma's top duo Warren adn Kearney.
Stanislaus State, now 2-3, hosts UC Santa Cruz on home courts at Noon on Sunday.
