TURLOCK — Stanislaus State's No. 1 doubles team posted another victory as the duo continues to take down their opponents in leading the Warriors to a 6-3 win over UC Santa Cruz Sunday afternoon.
Jaella Conway and
Cassidy Ferrell improved to 4-2 this spring. This time a 8-0 blanking over Claire Stoner and Vera Smekaline. Conway and Ferrell beat the No. 1 team from UC San Diego last week. They also have wins over Fresno City College and Holy Names.
Individually, Conway and Ferrell also won their singles matches on the day with straight sets over their opponents.
Also posting double wins on the day were
Ebone Qualls and
J'Ana Diamond as the No. 2 doubles team also won 8-0 over their foe Zoe Brooke and Ashley Brudzinski. Diamond, at the top singles position, edges out Sylvia Brummitt, 7-5, 6-3 and
The Warriors, ranked 49th in the ITA rankings and 10th in the West Region, improved to 3-3 on the season. Stanislaus State hosts Cal State L.A. next Sunday, March 5, at Noon.
